FAA INSTRUMENT RATING
The FAA instrument rating (IR) refers to the qualifications that a pilot must have in order to fly under IFR (Instrument Flight Rules). This rating requires the applicant to hold an FAA private pilot or commercial pilot certificate. The most significant value of flying under IFR is the ability to fly into instrument meteorological conditions (such as inside the clouds) and operating in Class A airspace.
Entry Requirements:
Be at least 17 years of age
Hold a valid FAA Private Pilot Certificate
Be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
Hold a valid FAA Class 3 Medical Certificate
Note: This program is based on our training curriculum minimum requirements. In some cases, training over the minimums may occur, which will result in an additional expense.
International Students: This program does not include fees associated for the student visa or TSA background/fingerprinting fees.
