In June 2004, the monument to Nikolai A. Pilyugin was erected on the famous Baikonur Cosmodrom. On the eve of the 50-year's anniversary of the Cosmodrom, Academician Pilyugin Center has opened its exposition in the Museum of Baikonur. The exposition includes components of the Buran orbiter’s control system, as well as photos of veterans ensured launch-preparation of the first intercontinental ballistic missile R-7."
