 Purpose
The mandate of the Association is to advance economic opportunities for Nova Scotia’s aerospace, marine and defence industries. ADIANS acts as a facilitator, linking members to each other and to government partners. Our purpose is to identify, promote and support the development of opportunities for our member companies. We accomplish this through member activities, learning session, supplier development events, strategic advocacy with respect to domestic and international supply chain opportunities, innovation and productivity improvement.
ADIANS is a key resource for Nova Scotia businesses to access information on Defence, Marine and Aerospace procurement, business and academic linkages.
Member Activities
We provide networking, learning, business development, innovation and commercialisation events, as well advocating on behalf of our members.
Conferences & International Business Missions
Partnering with provincial and federal governments and in collaboration with the Atlantic Alliance of Aerospace Defence Associations (AAADA), we create opportunities for our members to participate in targeted international business missions with the purpose to investigate and maximise international market development and engagement in appropriate global supply chains. We facilitate business to business services to introduce our companies to a global market. National and international missions include the CANSEC, Oceans Business, Euronaval and DSEi. ADIANS Annual Dinner; September
Held in conjunction with the Defence Security Exhibition Atlantic (DEFSEC), the Annual ADIANS Dinner attracts 500 plus attendees including key National and International Industry Members, Military, Government representatives and International delegates, providing an opportunity to showcase the Aerospace and Defence and Marine sector in Nova Scotia and the Atlantic Region. The dinner features a high-profile keynote speaker and pre- and post- dinner receptions and entertainment.
Aerospace
Since the first flight of the historic `Silver Dart` in 1909, the world has been turning to Nova Scotia for aerospace solutions. Home to two air bases, our Aerospace industry boasts keen insights in developing innovative products and services for companies in the commercial, military and space sectors. These include the Egyptian Air Force, the Royal Norwegian Air Force, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, FLIR Systems and NASA.
Defence
Nova Scotia has a dynamic cluster of defence and security companies that deliver innovative solutions to Canadian and global markets. ADIANS strives to act as a key repository for valuable industry information and below you will find an up to date list of key procurement opportunities and current projects in the defence sector.
Marine
With a rich marine and naval history, Nova Scotia has always had a close connection to the sea. From being home to the Canadian Navy’s Atlantic fleet to being the closest major port to Europe, Nova Scotia supports a robust marine research and technology sector and leads in such fields as acoustic hull design, system electronics, sonar technologies and computer-aided manufacturing.
