Do you have your commercial licence but are still unsure as to wher to start your career as a pilot? Flight instruction is an excellent way to build your knowledge and skills while building your pilot-in-command time. To become a flight instructor, you must be 18 years old and hold a Commercial or Airline Transport Licence. You must also complete a minimum of 25 hours of ground instruction and 30 hours dual flight time with a Class I flight instructor. To successfully complete the rating you must write a multiple choice exam for Transport Canada with a passing grade of at least 70%, and pass a Transport Canada flight test.
once you obtain the instructor rating (Class 4), you will be allowed to conduct flight training for the issue of licences and permits. All new instructors must teach under the supervision of a class I or II instructor.
