Gaining a Sport Pilot Instructor certificate is a great way to build time and valuable experience while being compensated. Instructors are the gateway to the future of the aviation community therefore they are not only responsible for training student correctly but to support and encourage aviation.
Eligibility
Be at least 18 years old
Able to read, speak, and write English
Pass Knowledge Test on the Fundamentals of Instructing
Pass Knowledge Test
Pass Practical Flight Test
Hold at least a Sport Pilot certificate
Privileges and Limitations
Able to give training to sport pilot students for primary licenses and flight reviews
Responsible for giving appropriate endorsements and keeping records
Can not give training toward an instrument rating or a private pilot license
Can not give training toward a multi-engine rating
Must renew the CFI certificate every 2 years
