“A combat-proven HALE UAS with extraordinary ISR capabilities, providing near-real-time high resolution imagery of large geographical areas all day and night in all types of weather.” (Northrop Grumman)
The Global Hawk is an unmanned surveillance aircraft developed by Northrop Grumman for the U.S. Air Force and Navy. Aurora fabricates the composite fuselage and V-tail for the Global Hawk and variant aircraft. These components are fabricated using metal and composite tools, automated ply cutting, hand lay-up, autoclave cure and fixtured assembly.
Throughout the contract, several design updates have been made by Aurora to the original design at the company’s West Virginia production facility. The Global Hawk was one of Aurora’s first programs and is currently the longest running.
