Avian Flight Center
The story of Avian Flight Center really begins with the history of Avian Aeronautics, our aircraft repair facility. Started in 1986 by sole proprietor, Patrick Heseltine, and incorporated in 1996, Avian Aeronautics' reputation for their engine expertise has become highly regarded throughout the Northwest; with customers coming from as far as California and Montana. Using the mechanics combined experience of over eighty five years; Avian has grown to offer all aspects of aircraft maintenance, from engine rebuilds to pre-buy inspections. This continuous growth, combined with a 1940's era Hangar that leaked in the Northwest rain, created a need for a newer and larger facility.
In the summer of 2002, construction began for a new facility at Bremerton National Airport that would provide the needed space, not only for Avian Aeronautics,but also for a new FBO and flight school. And that's when Avian Flight Center was born. Mr. Heseltine's background as a pilot includes in excess of 3000 hours of flight time, including crop dusting and charter float plane service. So starting Avian Flight Center was a perfect opportunity to combine His past flying experiences with His current business success. The Flight Center tripled its size in the first two years of operation and continues to grow. This new facility includes classrooms, offices, a pilot's lounge and kitchen, as well as a Lasergrade testing center. Future plans include the addition of an aircraft charter service as well as the continued expansion of our part 141 flight school.
