At Bureau Veritas, technical assistance in the field of ATM (Air Traffic Management) is coordinated and monitored following a transversal approach of five key ATM pillars. These pillars constitute the essential strategic elements necessary for the purpose of achieving overall consistency with the SES legislation. Each pillar is linked to the achievement of a specific objective:
- Legislative alignment with the SES legislation (“Approximation pillar”): national legislation is harmonized with the SES acquit in general, with the four basic Regulations in particular;
- Capacity building of the national supervisory authority function (“NSA pillar”): national supervisory authorities are established and endowed with the adequate resources, procedures and documentation to conduct their tasks;
- Effective implementation of SES requirements by air navigation service providers (“ANSP pillar”): air navigation service providers are able to understand and implement all the key requirements of the SES and have achieved compliance with the EU ANS Common Requirements;
- FAB cooperation (“FAB pillar”): Stakeholders have the legal, institutional and operational framework in place for participating a FAB and have undertaken the process of joining / have joined a FAB initiative;
- Integration in pan-European functions (“pan-European pillar”): Beneficiaries have the regulatory framework and capabilities to undertake their responsibilities in the framework of the pan-European functions.
