Capital City Aviation, Inc. (“CCA”) was formed in 2004 and is based at the Ohio State University Airport (“OSU”) in Columbus, Ohio. CCA is a non-profit flight training and aircraft rental business whose primary goal is developing safe and proficient pilots while offering the highest quality aircraft rental fleet found in Central Ohio.
Our rental fleet consists of a 2010 Diamond DA42NG, 2 Diamond Star DA40 XLS, a 2009 Diamond DA20-C1 Eclipse, a 2010 Cirrus SR20, a 1981 Piper Warrior II, a 1977 Cessna Skyhawk, a 1973 Beechcraft Bonanza, and a state-of-the-art Flight Simulator. More than half of our rental fleet is equipped with a Glass Cockpit (G1000, Aspen EFD1000, and G500). The few aircraft that are not equipped with glass cockpits have a minimum of an IFR certified GNS 430 which consists of a color moving map, communication/navigation radio, and Global Position System (“GPS”). We also offer Traffic Awareness Systems in 6 of our 8 aircraft which increases a pilot’s situational awareness and safety. Additionally, we strive to keep our aircraft maintained to the highest professional standards found in the flight training/aircraft rental environment. You can view specifications of each of our aircraft by visiting the Aircraft page under the Club Info tab.
Our flight training goal is to provide high quality ground and flight instruction by our well trained and experienced Certified Flight Instructors(“CFI”).
Our aircraft rental goal is to provide high quality aircraft that emulate the ownership pride and look in a rental environment.
The OSU airport is a full service, high volume, multiple runway airport with a FAA contracted control tower. Operating out of OSU, Capital City Aviation students and members will experience a mix of high performance corporate jets and turbo props as well as an extensive amount of light single/multi-engine general aviation aircraft. The OSU airport is located just 10 miles from Port Columbus International airport and provides an excellent training environment that prepares our students and renters for complex and busy airspace.
