On Woody’s 50th birthday he did something he had never done before. He took to the skies. After his initial flight in Pulaski, his passion for aviation came to life. “I had my first flight and the rest was history.”
Woody has always enjoyed helping people grow and develop in the aviation field and beyond. He is a retired school administration of 30 years, with over 7000 hours of flight experience. Woody is qualified to teach Private Pilot through Airline Transport Pilot (ATP). In addition, he is a FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE), providing check rides for new and renewing licensed pilots.
The goal of CAVU Flight Academy is to provide students with the highest quality instruction from recreational pilots to careers as commercial pilots for the airlines. In addition to classroom instruction, CAVU Flight Academy offers online classes from UVU, which offers a Bachelors degree in Aviation Sciences, a flight simulator lab and hands-on flying lessons.
