Presentation
CEFA is located on a 170,000 m² site including the head office, a testing area, and 19,000 m² of production workshops. Our ambition is to design and manufacture high added value equipment. To do this, we rely on the latest technologies and invest significantly in R+D. 50 years of expertise in the fields of mechanical engineering, structures, aquatic and land propulsion, pressure vessels, piping, welding and electronic and digital systems mean that, today, we have a high capacity for innovation in the design of our products.
Governance
Founded in 1959, CEFA is an innovative independent family-owned company specialized in systems for military engineers. In 1986, the company was bought out by the employees. From 1986, Mr Frédéric SCHMIDT Senior managed the company and started the international adventure of EFA. In 2004, Frédéric SCHMIDT Junior took the lead at CEFA. Its main activities are engineering and manufacturing of military bridging systems and mechanical mine clearance systems. Our job is to ensure all our customers’ needs are met their needs and to deliver unparalleled industrial services.

1959: Creation of the Company under the name VOGELSAND
1966: Change of name in CEFA (Chaudronneries et Forges d’Alsace)
1968: Assembly of Gillois ramps bridging modules
1970: Beginning of the pressure vessel activity
1980: Construction of EFA prototype
1989: Production EFA F1 – France, serial production (Qty 39)
1993: Production PAA – France
2006: Production EFA X1 – UAE (Qty 10)
2011: Contract award 10-Year maintenance EFA F1 – France
2012: Production Vedette F2 – France (Qty 8)
2013: Contract award 3-year follow-on support contract EFA X1 – UAE; first prototype and serial contract with SIEMENS for flowmeter bodies
2014: Production SDZ Zone Clearance System (Qty 10)
2015: Spare part purchase orders EFA X1; second prototype and serial contract with SIEMENS for flowmeter bodies
