Founded in March 2002 in Gosselies (BE) by both industrial and academic stakeholders, Cenaero's first mission is to serve Industry with ultimate flexibility and highest commitment whilst keeping its research center identity. This dual positioning implies that Cenaero performs technology transfer and provides in-depth CAE expertise to industries on a day-to-day basis but also works in parallel on other long-term R&D projects such as regional and European collaborative research programs (e.g. FP6, FP7 projects).
This positioning has the great advantage of resulting in a strong mutual enrichment of those activities as we, at Cenaero, are convinced that R&D projects must integrate and reflect Industry needs but at the same time that our engineering services and methods must integrate the latest scientific discoveries for the greatest benefit of our partners.
In March 2007, Cenaero also became officially a R&D Partner of the SAFRAN Group. This important milestone also demonstrates our ability to fulfil our partner's expectations on both R&D projects and advanced engineering services on various topics like aero-thermal modeling and optimization in turbomachinery.
In 2008, with a team of more than 50 highly skilled engineers and PhD's specialized in numerical methods, materials, structures and processes modeling, computational fluid dynamics, physics and applied mathematics, Cenaero holds an impressive know-how and technological background in CAE. With its numerous successful references and demonstrated problem-solving approach in complex industrial environments, Cenaero is the ideal partner for developing or improving your methods or, simply, for solving a challenging problem.
Besides, Cenaero is also hosting the most impressive High Performance Computing (HPC) centre in our Region. Ranked 447 in the Top500 list issued in June 2008 (with currently more than 2000 proc's), Cenaero's HPC centre enables powerful and challenging simulations and has the ambition to yet double its capacity by the end of 2010!
