CGB – YOUR SPECIALIST FOR LARGE TUBES IN CFRP AND GFRP

CGB is your specialist for construction and manufacture of large carbon tubes and rings. We implement fiber composite structures with diameters ranging between 40mm and 4 meters and component lengths of up to 40 meters. Our machine park consists among others of conventional winding machines and a world-wide unique patented tensile winding machine capable of fabricating components up to 40 meters in length coreless or with core.

CGB will attend your project from the definition of the requirements specification, through construction of prototypes up to manufacture in series. We are looking forward to hearing from you and your specific requirements.

FEATURES OF CARBONTUBES:

POSSIBLE COMPONENT-DIMENSIONS

  • Component diameter: 40mm up to 4 meters
  • Component lengths: 0.50 meters to 40 meters

MATERIALS

  • Carbon, glas, aramid and basalt fibres (rovings) of different filament count from 12k – 50k independent of manufacturer
  • In each case specifically optimised resin / catalyst systems are used (standard: epoxy)
  • Foams, honeycombs and other core materials for sandwich-tubes

FIBRE ANGLES

  • All fiber angles between 0° and 90° against the roll axis can be combined as required for adapting the mechanical properties of the individual component and/or the assembly.

ConNECTOR TECHNOLOGIES

metal flanges and carbon tubes can be connected in different ways:

  • Form-locking, e.g. pin-mounting.

In this process the outside of an insert or flange is populated with pins. In the course of further processing these semi-finished products are directly incorporated into the laminate to achieve optimal positive locking.

  • Force-locking, e.g. screwing.
  • Material-locking, e.g. bonding.

CGB employs a gluing method patented by IMA in Dresden which achieves complete coverage of the adhesive gap which guarantees an extremely high mechanical load-carrying capacity.

APPLICATION OF CGBS CARBON TUBES

CGBs filament wound Carbon tubes may find application among others for the following:

  • Jigs and fixtures manufacture
  • Special machinery construction
  • Drive technology (drive shafts, push rods)
  • Optical systems

  • Ship and boat-building
  • Transportation and handling-systems
