Training pilots safely and successfully for over 25 years.

The first step in becoming a pilot is earning your Private Pilot License. It is the foundation on which other more advanced ratings rest. For those interested in careers as pilots, the Private Pilot rating is a prerequisite to a Commercial Pilot License and other subsequent ratings. For most individuals, however, the Private Pilot rating is sufficient as it allows the holder to rent aircraft, carry passengers, and conduct most any other non-commercial activity. The basic cost of earning a Private License is outlined below. These estimates represent the minimums required by the FAA. Actual flight time varies and depends upon the skill of the pilot.

It takes 40 hours to earn your Private Pilot License. The shortest amount of time required to complete the license is about 2 weeks, although that is under the most ideal conditions. That assumes that the student is devoting all their time during that period to training and that they are flying two to three times a day, 7 days a week. Most people who are completing the training all at once take 4 to 5 weeks. This generally allows the student to complete their training at a more reasonable pace and have better retention of the training. Since all our instruction is done 'one on one,' the student chooses the pace at which they learn. Students who are learning just for fun often take half a year to complete the training at a leisurely pace.
