A Native Arizonan, I was raised along the Mexican border and began flying with my father at eight years old. I began working at our local airport at 14. At 18, I began flying professionally as corporate pilot flying a Cessna 210. Flying paid for my college education at University of Arizona (Go Cats!). After various corporate jobs, flying under both a US ATP and a Mexican Commercial License and 4 years of forest fire fighting, I started Coffman Companies in 1997.
I saw a need for management services that were not Charter/income based but rather tailored for the needs of the owner. Lowered operating expenses, distancing from liability and flexibility of schedule are what we achieve. My thoughts were then, and remain today, that there is a selec group of individuals who enjoy the benefits of aircraft ownership but do not want the hassles and liability of charter operations nor the liability and turmoil of an internal flight department. In the same vein, I noticed a need for those same customers to enjoy a reasonable and completely transparent method by which to sell and acquire new or different aircraft.
With integrity, openness and a focus on the needs of the customer, Coffman Companies was born. Our goal is not to be the biggest management/sales organization, we simply want to be the best…for you, our customer.
