COTEC Corporation

COTEC Corporation was established at Bongam-dong, Masan City in 1989. In July 1995, the company moved to the present plant at Palyong-dong, Changwon City. COTEC is a plating and coating company producing the best quality products with the best human resources and accumulated technologies.

Our products include 20 kinds of plating products manufactured through the use of technologies such as magnesium anodizing, hard chromium plating, Zinc electroplating, electroless nickel plating, anodizing, phosphating etc. Our key products are parts for semiconductors, nuclear power generation, aircraft and defence equipment. We are also implementing a plant business that is related to the plating equipment.

For semiconductor parts, we have developed technologies such as magnesium anodizing and magnesium chromium for the first time in Korea. We have also developed the technology applying a hologram to the glass substrate, which is currently applied to the plating of IT products.

For nuclear power generation, we have developed our own chromium plating technologies and accumulated many other technologies to acquire certification from GE. Our accumulated technologies are applied to hard chromium plating for nuclear power generation equipment parts.

For the aircraft field, we have a plating line which has received quality-related approval from Boeing in U.S.A. and M.D in Europe; we have been also awarded AS9100/ISO9001 and NADCAP certifications. We have made a contract for the plating of parts for the B787 aircraft series for the period of 2005-2008.

For defense-related equipment, we have constructed equipment for the chromium plating of large-diameter parts for the first time in Korea and have acquired NADCAP quality certification in the aircraft manufacturing field.

For the plant business, we have supplied defense-related plating equipment which previously had been supplied by overseas companies. We have also developed plating equipment and environment-related technologies.

Through the research center founded in Jan. 2004, we have developed new technologies related to the plating of defense equipment parts and aircraft parts. Even though we are a company employing only around 90 people, we are planning to expand equipment so that we can grow to become the surface treatment company with the world's best plating technologies by 2005.
