University of Dubuque

The University of Dubuque is a professional university with a liberal arts focus offering Part 141 and Part 61 flight instruction. Students complete FAA ratings and earn a bachelor of science degree. The Flight Operations Center, located at the Dubuque Regional Airport, is home base to the University´s fleet of twenty-one aircraft ranging from Cessna 172s to a Piper Cheyenne.

The University´s primary training fleet is comprised of eleven Cessna 172SPs technically advanced,glass cockpit aircraft; four Cessna 172Rs. Complex trainers include three TB20 Socata Trinidads (complex/high performance), two Piper Seminoles (multi-engine), and a Piper Cheyenne (multi-engine, turboprop) with an internship opportunity.

Flight simulators available for students include a Fresca MentorAATD (advanced aviation training device), a Red Bird AATD (single/multi-engine), two Red Bird BATDs, an AST multi-engine, and a CRJ 200 Level 5 Aerosim.

University of Dubuqueaviation programs provide students with the academic and professional tools needed to achieve success in the constantly changing aviation industry.

The University flight program enjoys a strong relationship with American Airlines and is exploring similar ties with Delta Airlines. Because UD´s flight program is accredited by the Aviation Accreditation Board International(ABBI), the flight program also has opportunities with JetBlue.

The flight program is one of a selec group -- nationwide -- that is authorized by the FAA to issueR-ATP certificates that provide early access to first officer positions.
