The Commercial Pilot’s License is required to get paid for the time that one is flying.  It is usually the last step towards becoming an airline pilot.

The CPL(A) is usually done in conjunction with a Multi-Engine Rating as well as an Instrument Rating.  However, the following information is provided for the standalone course.  For more information about how to acquire a CPL with IR and ME, please contact us and we will be more than happy to guide you.

Pre Entry Requirements

18 years and over

Private Pilot License holder

150 hours total

100 hours as pilot in command

20 hours of VFR cross country flight time as pilot in command including a cross country flight totalling at least 300 nautical miles in the course of which full-stop landings at two aerodromes different from the aerodroms of departure shall be made

5 hours of night flight time

Course Content

Theoretical Knowledge

The theoretical knowledge for the CPL (A) is not required if the applicant is a holder of a frozen ATPL (A).  However, the CPL has to be completed within 3 years of the last exam of the ATPL (A).

Flight Training

There are the following minimums to fly for the issuance of a CPL (A):

A minimum of 25 hours of flight instruction

A minimum of 10 hours of instrument flying time, of which not more than 5 hours can be done in our FNPT 2 Simulator.

A minimum of 5 hours of flight instruction in a complex aircraft capable of the carriage of at least 4 persons, and with a variable pitch propeller and retractable undercarriage, such as our Piper Seneca II.

However, please note that for the governing body to issue the license, the applicant must have at least 200 total hours.

Training Schedule

The CPL can be started at the discretion of the student.

Course Duration

The course usually takes a minimum of 3-6 weeks.

Other Information

Courses are subject to final /confirm/iation, changes or discontinuation

Students must hold a valid JAA/EASA Class 1 Medical Certificate issued by CAD-TM approved Medical Examiner.
