How Long Does it Take to Become a Private Pilot?
Flight hours v. calendar days. The FAA requires a minimum of 40 flight-hours to apply for a private pilot certificate. However, the national average to complete a private pilot license is more like 80 flight hours.
A full time (5-days a week) training track takes from four to eight months to complete. A part time track (one-lesson per week) can take from six to eighteen months to complete.
No matter how many flight hours it takes you, the FAA requires all pilot applicants to prove they have acquired the knowledge and skills required to meet a national test standard.
With consistent training and our structured Cessna curriculum our pilots consistently finish in fewer than the national flight hour average.
How Often Should I Take lessons?
For best results plan on a minimum of one or two lessons per week.
TakeWING offers you very flexible lesson scheduling, you can choose a different day each week if you want. You will work one-on-one with your instructor while using the Cessna online ground school course—the most modern training curriculum available today (Click here for a demonstration of the Cessna online program). We ensure your training exceeds all federal requirements.
TakeWING's curriculum combines web based ground school with one-on-one, (instructor and student) briefings and flight lessons.
The Cessna training curriculum is based on the idea that the best way to learn a complex process is by breaking it down into its individual steps. once you master a step, you build onto it until you are proficient and comfortable with the who process. The Private Pilot Course is designed using this building block approach. Each task (a task can be a maneuver, procedure or study area) is broken down into steps and builds on the previous task. A group of tasks builds a stage and all stages build on each other.
How Much Does Private Pilot Training Cost?
