about Precision

Precision Helicopters, located in Newberg, Oregon, was established in 1983 with the vision and persistence of Dennis and Nancy Sturdevant. It is one of the first all-inclusive Part 141 Aviation Training Schools in the Western United States and also has Part 133,135 and 137 Certificates.

In 1990, as demand increased, Dennis and Nancy decided to purchase the Chehalem Air Park to allow for expanded operations and a Part 145 Certificated maintenance facility. With its 2,285 ft runway, this location remains the base of operations and home to the Precision training academy.

The Precision goal has always been to provide safe helicopter operations, impeccable maintenance services and comprehensive aviation training to those who want the highest quality and the best value.

Precision is an FAA Approved Flight School offering approved courses from initial pilot certification through to instructor pilot privileges. Additionally approved specialty courses are offered in both Airplane and Helicopters. Courses offer a range of instruction, from standard VFR and IFR, to advanced technical skills such as External-Load Training, Confined Area and Mountain/High Altitude Operations.

Precision is one of the few helicopter-training companies in the US that has a curriculum that is recognized as a Factory Equivalent Course by: Schweizer, McDonnell Douglas, Bell, American Eurocopter and Enstrom.
