Earning your IFR rating allows you to take better advantage of your flying skills. Instead of being limited to flying only when its nice and sunny, a IFR rating will allow you to understand how to fly low visibility. Although the IFR rating does not automatically grant you the ability to fly in any weather conditions, it certainly makes flying more enjoyable, practical and turns you into a safer pilot.
