General requirements include
At least 16 years of age to solo, 17 to receive a license
Able to read, speak and understand English
Pass a medical exam administered by an FAA designated doctor
Pass a FAA pilot knowledge test, consisting of multiple choice questions, with a score of 70% or better
Training requirements include:
A MINIMUM of 40 flight hours, including the following:
20 hours dual (with your instructor)
8 hours cross country (3 dual, 5 solo)
3 hours dual night flying, including 10 takeoffs and landings
Pass a flight test given by an FAA examiner
