SPEED Before now, a 150 mph Cub was fantasy. XCub has broken the barrier. Thrust is furnished by a Lycoming O-360 powering a Hartzel Trailblazer composite, constant-speed propeller. With 180 horsepower on hand, the Trailblazer grabs air aggressively. In the slippery XCub airframe, a new milestone for Cub performance has been established. TAKEOFF & LANDING A mix of light weight airframe, powerful engine, high-lift wings and a hungry constant-speed prop is the recipe for short takeoff and landing rolls. XCub respects its CubCrafters heritage by providing remarkable STOL performance. RANGE The fuel capacity for XCub is 49 gallons. The published specification for XCub's Range is 800 miles, but these numbers reveal only a small part of the airplane's cross-country capabilities. At 135 mph cruise, XCub will burn about 9 gph. That's an exceptional pace for a Cub. However, pilots who pull the throttle back and cruise at 120 mph will enjoy the economy of 6 gph fuel burn, and a range of nearly 1,000 miles. This is an extraordinarily versatile aircraft. STRENGTH XCub is built on a wholly original fuselage design. The CNC milled 4130 chromoly steel frame meets the latest FAA Part 23 certification standards for a gross weight of 2,300 lbs. XCub's useful load is as high as 1,084 lbs.
