Deploys troops rapidly to the ground in a situation wher the helicopter cannot land. The Airborne Systems deplaning rope assemblies Mk 2 and 3 enable soldiers, from a height of up to 30m (100 ft) over ground and up to 6 people per rope to deploy from a hovering helicopter. once attached to the helicopter anchorage point, the rope is dropped and allowed to hang free enabling troops to climb down. These are in service on a wide range of helicopters including the Sea King, Chinook and Lynx across the Armed Forces worldwide.

Made of yarn spun from high tenacity staple fiber.

Secured into a cylindrical metal casing by a bolted cross-pin allowing easy attachment to any helicopter’s hook.

Whipped end ensures robustness and reliability.

Safe thanks to the quick release mechanism (QRM).

Mk 2 Assembly

The Deplaning Rope Assembly Mk 2 has been developed to attach directly to the helicopter anchorage point by an integral ring and spring snap-hook.

Mk 3 Assembly

The Deplaning Rope Assembly Mk 3 is specifically designed for attachment to the helicopter anchorage point via Airborne Systems Quick Release Mechanism (QRM), thereby enabling release of the rope in an emergency. See Quick Release Mechanism for further information.

Helicopter deplaning rope assemblies can be supplied with rope lengths and attachment fittings to suit specific helicopter types, operating procedures or special customer requirements.
