As of the end of 2019, there are more than 54,000 helicopters in use worldwide, of which about 32,000 are civilian helicopters and about 22,000 are military helicopters. However, the global distribution of civilian helicopters is extremely uneven. North America has about 12,000 civilian helicopters and Europe has about 7,000 civilian helicopters. These two countries, together with the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and other 7 countries with more than 500 military helicopters, have formed the world's "first group" of military helicopter equipment, with a total of 11,275 aircraft, accounting for the total amount of military helicopters in the world. 51.25% of the fleet.

Since 2015, the number of delivered civilian helicopters in the world has always been around 1,000. Among them, the output of civilian helicopters in 2018 was 976, and the total market output value was 3.66 billion U.S. dollars. Affected by the decline in the number of delivery of piston helicopters, the number of deliveries in 2019 was 819, a decline of 16.3%.
