Company History

KWD Manufacturing was founded as a privately held corporation in 1986 with the acquisition of the Ventura Manufacturing Company (formerly a division of the Lockheed Aircraft Company), headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. The early mission of KWD focused on the design and manufacture of products in support of the Lockheed Martin C-130 aircraft platform.

The firm has carefully managed project work to ensure growth without the need for outside capital. From these early projects emerged concepts for processes and tools that could be applied to other aircraft platforms and products specifically designed for Maintenance Repair and Overhaul facilities (MRO) and Fixed base Operations (FBO), as well as airframe, engine and automotive OEM facilities. KWD has devoted its resources to expand its product base to support C-5, C-1 7, C-141, F-16, C-235, C-27, L-1011, KC-135, KC-10, P-3, E2C, T-46 and T6 aircraft platforms.
