At Angel City Flyers, your training for the instrument rating is conducted in a state-of-the-art Diamond DA40 or Diamond DA42 Twin.

During the instrument rating, we teach you to make the best of the technology available in the aircraft without becoming dependent on it. Our emphasis on single pilot resource management and scenario-based training ensures you are prepared to operate safely and confidently in real-world IFR. Our FAA-approved Flight Training Device allows you access to equipment normally reserved for airline and corporate pilots. You receive efficient, effective and in-depth training.

What do I need to do to start my instrument rating?

You need to be getting close to 50 hours cross-country PIC time, a current pilot certificate and medical.

How long will it take?

based on a full-time schedule, the course takes between 14 to 21 days depending on self-study and previous flying experience.
