You are expected to prepare for these last few weeks at your own pace and in your own time. Printed manuals and our state-of-the-art ATP digital computer program will help you learn, understand and remember everything you need to know.
Your trajectory
The course includes a combination of distance learning and classroom work. It will take around ten to thirteen months to complete. During this time, you will need to build up your flying experience. The flight time doesn’t just offer a break from the books – it’s a wonderful opportunity to put everything you’re learning into practice.
The ATPL course splits the learning material into three separate modules. Each module has a distance-learning phase in which you are expected to study and prepare at your own pace. It is followed by an intensive classroom revision course with Bristol Groundschool in the UK (near Bristol Airport) just prior to your exams.

Prerequisites
Before you start your ATPL theory course, you must have a PPL that meets International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standards. As you will usually finish your PPL with 45 to 65 flying hours, and the next flying course, the CPL course, requires you to have 150 hours of flying time before you start, you need to build up your flying hours while studying for your ATPL.
