An experienced cargo airline pilot with thousands of flight hours in aircraft ranging from small prop planes to heavy jets, Long started business operations in 1998 with one aircraft and a small rented office at the tiny Goose Creek Airport on the east side of Charlotte, NC. Goose Creek was a great place to start the business, offering a fun, laid-back environment in which to offer general aviation services ranging from flight instruction to aerial photography and air charters.
In 2008, Long realized the need to grow beyond what Goose Creek could support. To that end, Long designed and built his "dream hangar" and office facility at the Rock Hill/York County Airport in Rock Hill, SC ( just south of Charlotte, NC). The move to Rock Hill was completed in 2009. Today, Long Aviation and JCL Aviator offer a range of General Aviation services, primarily serving the Charlotte, NC metro area with aircraft sales and restoration, aerial photography, flight instruction, and consulting services.
