It is the only company that can offer a fully integrated escape system that satisfies the very latest in pilot operational capability and safety standards. Martin-Baker offers a complete 'end-to-end service’, from helping the customer to establish operational safety and escape requirements, including design, development and qualification, to on-going support throughout the entire service life of the aircraft.
Martin-Baker appreciates fully that the ejection seat may represent the crew member's last chance to survive and that there can be no compromise. Every facet of the safety system from initiation, escape path clearance, ejection sequencing, stabilisation, life support and parachute descent to final rescue, must work perfectly to safeguard a precious life.
The Company has also developed a range of special crashworthy seats for helicopters and fixed wing aircraft. These crash attenuating seats can be fitted in most maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft. Martin-Baker currently equips over 60 helicopter variants with our crashworthy seats.
Martin-Baker has headquarters at its original site in Higher Denham, with locations also in France, Italy, United States and representatives all over the world.
The Company continues as a successful family run business, jointly managed by the twin sons of the late founder, Sir James Martin. The Joint Managing Directors, like their father, are engineers. They are great enthusiasts for the products and actively run the Company, day-to-day together with an extremely loyal and skilful workforce.
