The founders Pete Dunn and Adam Forsberg are uncle and nephew, and both aviation enthusiasts. The company’s original goal was to restore classic aircraft and keep the past flying. The hunt was on for a suitable location and the beautiful Brainerd Lakes Area seemed perfect as both had longtime ties to the area. A search of all the available fields was on and a hangar at Breezy Point was available, right in the middle of picturesque Brainerd Lakes Area. Shortly after that the FBO in Aitkin became available and Aero Minnesota was up and running. The company got a big boost from the Addition of Dan Dolliff another “Local” aviation enthusiast. The final piece of the puzzle came into place with longtime A&P Mechanic and IA Ron Sieling.
We offer on field maintenance at both Aitkin and Breezy Point, and the restoration work is going smoothly. Pete is finishing his A&P rating and Adam’s son Justin is doing the same. Adam is a commercial land and sea pilot and CFI. The company is also very lucky to have some other very fine people whom we work with.
We have grown in a very short time to six aircraft. A 1940 Piper Cub(under restoration),1950 V-Tailed Bonanza, 1955 V-Tailed Bonanza (under restoration), 1966 Cessna P206 Seaplane, 1979 Grumman Tiger, and a 1982 YAK 52(Russian Military and Aerobatic Trainer.
The Company offers aircraft restoration, A&P Services, Flight Training and Aerial Adventures.
