NH Research, Inc. (NHR) designs and manufactures power electronics test instruments and complete turn-key test systems. Its products are used worldwide by manufacturers in the switching DC power supply, UPS, battery and battery charger industries. Applications typically involve either characterization or final test of customer products wher a combination of advanced measurements, rapid test times and ease of setup & use are important. Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) for Power Conversion & Energy Storage Products

The first type of test system consists of test solutions for the functional testing of DC power supplies, UPSs and similar power conversion components. Applications include high volume production testing, engineering design characterization, incoming inspection and depot repair. The newest series of this type of test system provides for simultaneous testing of up to 16 units in a single pass.

The second type of test system consists of a complete test solution for electrified vehicle batteries that require power cycling or simulated drive cycle profiles to determine long term performance. In addition, the test systems are used for testing battery chargers through a battery emulation mode of use. All such test systems are flexibly configured with medium-to-high-power capability and typically used by vehicle manufacturers, battery & battery charger manufacturers, independent battery test laboratories, university engineering laboratories and certifying agencies.

Test & Measurement Instruments for Customer-Built Test Systems

This group of products consists of programmable AC and DC sources and loads for use in a customer designed & built test systems. All instruments were originally designed to optimize the performance of the NHR test systems above. Because of that higher performance requirement, NHR instrumentation generally has faster test execution times and more comprehensive measurements than single-function bench-top-type instrumentation.
