
Oakland Air is a Michigan based company that was established in 1989 with the formation of Aviation Station Inc. by Mr. Joseph Borgesen, the founder and current President. Mr. Borgesen has been involved in various aviation related businesses since 1979. He saw a need for a private, corporate aircraft terminal. He was able to build his dream on a small parcel of land on the North side of the Oakland County airport. The grand opening took place in February, 1991. It offered a new level of personalized service out of a secure private location.
In 2006 David A. Lussier, joined Oakland Air as General Manager. He is trained and experienced with the inner workings of the FBO business. Since then, Mr. Lussier has enhanced the operations of the customer service division as well as the financial strengths of the company.
At Oakland Air we take pride in our exceptional attention to details and unwavering commitment to safety, both within the Fixed based Operations and the Managed/Charter aircraft business. The operations attracted many high profile clients, many of whom are still with the company today.
With the acquisition of the former Million Air facility located on the south side of the airfield completed, the new team began to mark their path with the expansion and upgrade of the facilities growth of the FAA Certified Part 135 Charter department and the acquisition of our FAA Certified Part 145 Repair Station. In the ensuing years the leadership team has continued to find new growth of its business units with vigilance on both cost effective services and safety.
