My name is Mauro Pezzetta, General Manager – Training and Simulation. I have been in the aviation business for over 30 years. Originally from a background of avionics and flight simulator training with South African Airways, Canadian Airlines and Air Canada. Recently served as Technical Operations Manager with CAE in Vancouver before joining Pacific Sky Aviation just over a year and a half ago.
At Pacific Sky Aviation, our Flight Training Unit situated in Victoria offers the highest standard of Ab Initio training for PPL and CPL licenses, as well as Multi-engine / IFR, instructor and float ratings. If you are just starting out, this is a great place to complete your initial training in a professional and customer focused environment.
I am now delighted to announce the arrival of the Twin Otter 400 Level D Full Flight Simulator (FFS) and the Flat Panel Trainer (FPT) to our new training facility in Calgary. Both devices will be ready for training in mid-2017.
Together with the training devices our Twin Otter 400 courses will also be available to all our worldwide customers. The training courses available will comprise of the following:
Ground School Pilot Initial
Pilot Recurrent
Pilot Conversion/Differences
Seaplane Training
Specialty Training (i.e. STOL/Phase II Autopilot, etc.)
Our instructors come from a variety of backgrounds, some with thousands of hours on Twin Otter operations from around the globe. Highly skilled and professional individuals with a passion for teaching and instruction.
The Twin Otter 400 FFS will be initially certified by Transport Canada and thereafter by EASA, FAA and any other regulatory authority required by our expansive customer base.
Our training center, which is located close to the Calgary International Airport, is perfectly situated allowing for our customers to have easy access and connections from various parts of the globe. The facility is also conveniently close to numerous hotels and restaurants which will make the stay for our customers a pleasant and trouble free experience.
