A code denoting how, as distinguished from wher, and under what restrictions an item will be acquired. See DOD 4100.39-M, VOLUME 10, TABLE 58.
Adpec Automatic Data Processing Equipment Identification Code (ADPEC)
A one position identifier code to indicate an item of ADPE or containing ADPE regardless of assigned FSC to provide visibility for compliance with unique manager requirements established for ADPE by Public Law 89-306.
0 - No ADP components
1 - Analog CPUs, ADP Central Processing Units for Computers Analog
2 - Digital CPUs, ADP Central Processing Units for Computers
3 - Hybrid CPUs, ADP Central Processing Units for Computers
4 - ADP Input/Output and Storage Devices Used to Control and Transfer Information to and from a CPU
5 - ADP Accessorial Equipment
6 - Punched Card Equipment
7 - ADP Supplies and Support Equipment
8 - Represents consumable supplies such as paper, empty reels and hubs, tape, certifying and cleaning equipment ADP Components
9 - Embedded ADPE that meets one or more of the definitions for codes 1 through 6
Applicability Key
A three position alphanumeric code that indicates whether a requirement in a Federal Item Identification Guide (FIIG) needs to be satisfied for the item being identified.
