Introduction

Rays Aviation is a dedicated aviation and flightsim website that was founded back in 2011 by the enthusiastic aviator Raymond Andersen.

Rays Aviation is located in central Jutland in Denmark and even though this is a one man operation, Rays Aviation is a global site with an everyday growing network.

I have flightsimmed since FS2000 and I was immediately hooked on the flightsim idea. I followed the updates to FS2002, then to FS2004 (FS9) Centry of Flight and latest FSX. I have not yet tried out P3D but that will certainly be tested in the near future.

My Interest in aviation started at a very young age (about 6 years old) wher one of my cousins took me for a visit at the local RC airfield wher I got to see RC planes flying around. Ever since I have been very amazed by aviation and up through the years in elementary school I build small wooden glider models and POL aircrafts (electrical engine powered balsa wood aircrafts that can only fly in circles).

The next step was RC aircrafts with Methanol engines but that simply just wasn't enough for me. In 1995 I visited the local glider field and purchased a 10 minutes flight which changed my life completely.

I started flight school in 1996 and got my license in 1997 for flying gliders. During the next couple of years I expanded my license to include permissions for passenger flights from both the front and rear seat, aerobatics (I had an instructor that used to fly the old SAAB J-35 Draken fighter bombers), both aero tow and winch launching starting procedures and to be a safety pilot, this means that I would sit in the rear seat and be a backup for the pilot in the front seat. This was a way to get pilots that had lost their medicals (for whatever reason) up flying again.

Furthermore I also converted my license to be a glider and motorglider license which now enabled me to fly motorgliders as the Diamond aircraft HK-36 Super Dimona.

I have over the years also tried out Paragliding, UL aircrafts which are Ultra Light aircrafts, GA aviation with Cessna 172 and Socata Rally 180 and also applied to be a fighter pilot in the RDAF. I went through all tests and passed them perfectly but unfortunately my vision was a little off on my left eye - nothing serious for civilian aviation, but enough so that I could not be a pilot within the RDAF.
