PRE-ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

- TRI: Valid rating for applicable aircraft type

- SFI: CPL, MPL, ATPL for applicable aircraft type

- Flying experience requirements


For TRI endorsement:

Minimum 1500 hours flight time in a multi pilot aircraft. Completed within the 12 months preceding the date of application at least 30 route sectors, including take-offs and landings as pilot-in-command or copilot on the applicable aircraft type, or a similar type as agreed by the Authority, of which not more than 15 sectors may be completed in a flight simulator


For SFI endorsement:

Minimum 1500 hours flight time in a multi pilot aircraft. Completed the simulator course for the aircraft applicable for the SFI rating. Have completed the proficiency check for the issue of the specific aircraft type rating on a FFS representing the applicable type, within the 12 months preceding the application;and additionally, for an SFI (A) or SFI (PL), have:

- At least 1500 hours flight time as a pilot of multipilot aeroplanes or powered lift, as applicable

- Completed, as an observer, within the 12 months preceding the application, at least

- 3 route sectors on the flight deck of the applicable aircraft type or

- 2 line orientated flight training based simulator sessions conducted by qualified flight crew on the flight deck of the applicable type. These simulator sessions shall include 2 flights between 2 different aerodromes with duration of at least 2 hours each,

COURSE SYLLABUS

The theoretical part is minimum 35 hours. The theory is a combination of classroom lectures and work group exercises as well as practising in paper-tiger/FTD. The simulator part consists of at least 10 hours of technical training of simulator operation together with teaching & learning exercises.

PART 1  -  Teaching & Learning Module

-  Human performance and limitations relevant to flight instructions

-  Hazards involved in simulating systems failures and malfunctions in the aircraft during flight

PART 2  -  Technical Theoretical Knowledge Instruction

Learning Objectives:

-  Refresher on aircraft systems technical knowledge on applicable type

-  Preparation of technical lesson plan

-  Development of technical theoretical instructional skills


PART 3  -  Synthetic Flight Instruction

Learning Objectives:

-  How to operate the simulator satisfactory

-  How to in teach aircraft type specific subjects in the simulator

-  How to give relevant feedback to students in the simulator and in the brifeings

-  Learning instructional methods from the right-hand seat (non-standard seat)
