Southstar Aircraft Interiors, Inc.’s story is one of humble beginnings that started when founders Dixie and Herb Radicke opened the doors more than 30 years ago in 1988. Familiar with the aviation industry, Herb identified a void in the market for aircraft interiors and the husband and wife team went to work building the business from the ground up.
The couple uprooted their family and business and moved to Uvalde, Texas in 1992 after deciding the airfield provided an ideal environment for customers with mechanics, paint, and interior work available in a single location.
Today, Southstar is owned by the mother-son team of Dixie and Holden Radicke. Together they closely manage the process of each aircraft refurbishment from start to finish. They employ a team who averages 15 years of service with the company.
The business now specializes in custom projects that range from mid-size to large, private and corporate planes. Southstar has grown exponentially over the years but high standards for quality and workmanship, and the ability to customize interiors and provide personalized service for each customer has not changed.
