TakeWING is not afraid of “doing things” — As in: doing things better, differently, or more creatively.
For YOU that means our job is not just to provide instruction and aircraft rental but to provide an infusion of warmth and hospitality within a culture of trust for both our members and our instructors. That’s not to say we are perfect. We humbly admit we aren’t. What we do say is that we strive to make this our goal. To do so we try to follow these five “simple” tenets:
Honor Respect Care for Protect Reward
Like the airlines, every aviation school operates similar models of aircraft. Compared to other local companies TakeWING's aircraft have better interiors, modern GPS systems, and new radios. Maintenance issues are attended to IMMEDIATELY.
We never advertise nor will we train you to the "minimum" of the required hours for an FAA license. If you come here for training or to rent our aircraft you must want and we expect you to be better than that!
TakeWING’s membership relations director and owner is Dorothy Schick. Dorothy began learning to fly at age 23 (16 if you count her years as a skydiver). Dorothy is a flight instructor. She loves training pilots for tailwheel endorsements and initial (sport and private) certificates the most. She is also a member of the FAASTeam (FAA safety team representative). TakeWING has been operating from Hobby Field, Creswell, Oregon (77S), since 1994.
