Thoroughbred Aviation Maintenance was originally founded as Thoroughbred Helicopters in 1988. In 2005, Thoroughbred was acquired by RJ Corman Railroad group, and was subsequently renamed RJ Corman Aircraft Maintenance.
Joe Otte, formerly with Rocky Mountain Helicopters and Astar Aircargo, was brought on in 2009 to oversee the transformation of the company. In the years since joining the company, Joe has added Robinson R22 and R44 to the list of service centers, as well as the maintenance of general aviation aircraft. The company's growth has been steady, and a multitude of new services have been added, including avionics, aircraft painting, refurbishments and a wide array of parts sales.
Joe Otte and his business partner, Todd Case, acquired the company in 2016 and proudly reinstated the Thoroughbred name. Thoroughbred Aviation Maintenance now has locations at four separate airports, and provides mobile maintenance as well. They maintain aircraft from small Cessnas to corporate jets, and helicopters from the helicycle to an AS 365N3.
Our clients include private and corporate general aviation customers and private and corporate helicopter customers, primarily in Kentucky, Tennessee and Ohio. We also have contracts with flight schools, governments, state troopers, police departments and sheriff's departments in both Kentucky and Indiana. Many of our clients have written testimonials for us - please see below to read just a few of them.
