The Department of Airworthiness (SAR) has as function the certification of production, maintenance and the aeronautical products of civil aviation, as well as to promote the flight safety of the civil aviation, verifying the accomplishment of the Brazilian Aeronautical Requirements applicable to design, materials, workforce, maintenance, environment protection, construction and manufacturing of the aeronautical products to be used by the brazilian civil aviation. SAR also performs the administration of Brazilian Aeronautical Register.
