Overview

The Aviation program at The University of Louisiana at Monroe is part of the College of Business Administration. Along with the Aviation degree, students are encouraged to get a minor in Business. Students planning to become professional pilots learn to fly at two flight schools on the Monroe Municipal Airport and take ground school on the campus. All FAA flight certificates are accepted for college credit. We have graduates flying for most regional and major airlines as well as corporate flight departments.

Students are not required to get a private pilot license. Many of our graduates pursue careers in airport management, air traffic control, airline dispatcher, or other professional aviation careers. Our curriculum can give any student the background in aviation necessary to launch a successful career or to continue with his/her aviation education.
