The Gol Airlines Aircraft Maintenance Centre is the first work completed in the project of enhancing and extending Tancredo Neves International Airport in Confins, in the State of Minas Gerais. This centre caters for approximately 40 of the airline’s aircrafts and houses the first hangar in the country whose technical specifications allow painting aeroplanes and components for the aviation sector.
The project to enhance Confins airport was started in 2005, with the intention of absorbing part of the traffic from Pampulha airport in Belo Horizonte (MG) and developing the industrial sector in the surrounding area.
Centre
The set of buildings that make up the Gol Maintenance Centre is formed by two hangars (one for painting and the other for maintenance work), three office buildings associated to the hangars and a three-floor building that houses the general warehouse, personnel area, administrative offices and training areas.
Also part of the complex are the adjoining constructions such as the shelter for discarded items, the warehouse for inflammable materials, the shelter for the generators, the measurement area and the Vehicle Parking area, as well as the yards wher the aircrafts are manoeuvred and cleaned.
Access to the complex is through the gates located beside the existing access road, with separate flows for cars and load vehicles.
