I have been a professional photographer for 22 years. In this time I have seen the business change dramatically especially with the coming of digital cameras and the Internet.

As a Commercial and Aerial photographer, I work with business clients, offering a very personal service to capture the images you require to promote and sell your business and products. Subjects over the years have been very broad and have included cars, agriculture, garden furniture, holiday resorts, clothing to stone products and jewellery. These images have been used by my clients in their company brochures, on their websites or in advertising.

For clients in the Construction Industry, I am regularly commissioned to cover architectural projects either for the construction company or the architects. These projects have included schools and colleges, road construction and motorway service areas, shopping malls, Police Investigation Centres to name a few. Photographs commissioned may be the completed project or progress photography as a construction project develops.

My Aerial photography takes me annually all over the country – Flying from Norfolk, my Commercial pilot and I fly a fast Cessna 182RG enabling us to cover large areas of the country rapidly. Generally, Photographic flights are to capture land survey images for clients with landfills, quarries, nature reserves etc. plus also commercial buildings either completed or in the construction stage. I am now able to offer clients aerial photography and or 4K video footage shot by a drone. I am fully qualified to operate my drone to capture the stills or video you require.

For many years I was commissioned by magazines worldwide to photograph subjects to illustrate articles, sadly this side of the business has totally changed over the years with editors now purchasing images online rather than commissioning a photographer. However my images have been and are still published globally. Images have been published in well over 200 magazines, newspapers and books and have also been used as inserts on TV (BBC and National Geographic etc.) I have also published travel books on India, Croatia and Cuba.

Travel images are an important part of the business and are generally available through a Photographic Image Library. Again subjects have been very broad. A few subjects I have covered include – La Tomatina, Trans Borneo Expedition, Belize – Royal Marines Jungle Warfare Training, Portraits of Cuba and Tigers in India.

Sport used to be major aspect of the business, however as I got older I stopped paragliding and covering extreme sports such as ice and rock climbing. I am now the manager for a young Danish Speedway rider – Nicklas Porsing, assisting him as he races in the UK, Poland, Sweden and Denmark.

As a hobby beekeeper, in 2009 I wrote and photographed a book on beekeeping. Beekeeping: A Novice’s Guide was self-published and is now in its 2nd edition. In 2013 I started running courses in the spring for novices who wish to take up beekeeping as a hobby.
