TRU Simulation + Training was formed in 2014 when parent company, Textron, Inc. (NYSE: TXT), acquired two legacy companies serving the flight training market—Mechtronix in Montreal, Canada and Opinicus in Lutz, Florida—and combined them with a portion of its then Textron Systems AAI business. Later that same year, TRU Simulation + Training acquired ProFlight, a part 142 certified pilot training center based in Carlsbad, California. Each of these formative companies has over 25 years of experience in their respective fields.
With that legacy foundation—and the backing of a Fortune 500 parent company—TRU Simulation + Training is well positioned to meet the advanced training needs of both civil and defense industry customers. Our competency areas today include:
Developing, manufacturing and maintaining state-of-the-art, high fidelity flight training solutions—from portable desktop devices and distance-learning courseware to fixed-base training devices and full-motion simulators for civil and defense fixed wing aircraft and rotorcraft
Providing civil and defense aircraft maintenance training through instruction, device development, and courseware authoring
Designing and delivering pilot instructor led initial type-rating and recurrent training in Part 142 certified training centers for general aviation fixed wing aircraft and rotorcraft pilots
