A helicopter is the ultimate flying machine:
You can land a helicopter on a mountain top, land it on a boat, and even fly backwards with it. Most helicopters are able to land on an area not greater then 15x15ft.
Get started with "Introduction to Helicopter Flying". During this two-hour course you learn the basic flight maneuvers: Flying level, changing airspeed, turning, climbing, descending and also do your first hover flight. Take it a step further and learn the fundamentals of flying during "Take offs, landings and Hover". These helicopter courses are primarily designed to show you how much fun flying can be, but also what the challenges of flying are. These courses are tailored for beginners. No experience is required. Because all courses are given by certified FAA instructors, you will learn the real world skills without the pressure and price tag of real flying.

1. INTRODUCTION TO HELICOPTER FLYING

Get a feel for the controls while learning the basic flight maneuvers first. Your FAA instructor will explain you the function of the different flight controls and the basic flight instruments.

Your FAA instructor will guide you through turns, airspeed changes, slow flying, climbs and descents. Towards the end of the flight you will fly to an airport and land on the runway. On the runway, you will have your first opportunity to hover.
