First Flight of a Purely Electric Aerobatic Aircraft

On Monday 4 July, EASA approved the Flight Condition for the first ever flight of a purely electric aerobatic aircraft which took place 100 km north of Cologne, Germany. This may prove to be a historical event for aviation! The EXTRA EA-300LE PEP aircraft has a 235 kW (315HP) electric engine and flies at a maximum speed of 400 km/hour. This silent and fast plane has been developed by Siemens and Extra.
