The Kaeru X1 is the new FPV racing frame from Aeroxcraft.
After many design iterations and testing we hit all the design criteria and the “Kaeru X1” was born. We thought it looked like a little frog and so we named it after the Japanese Kaeru good luck charm. The “X1” is because it is the first in a series of X configuration frames. There are more frame designs on the way for slightly different purposes that are all based on the same carbon/aluminium arms.

Tubular Arms
We developed our unique tubular carbon fibre and aluminium bonded arms for the Kaeru and they are integral to its design. We chose to bond the arms together rather than using fasteners to save weight and give a cleaner look. The bonding process we have developed results a very strong join and in destructive testing we find that the carbon tube fails before the bonding fails. The carbon fibre arm tube has an internal diameter of 14mm which allows the ESC to fit inside. We've been using the 20amp Little Bee ESC which we've found to be perfect. The tubular arms help to maximise the thrust from the props as the airflow over the arm is much smoother than with a flat plate style arm. From our testing we reckon there's up to 10% more thrust with this style of arm.
