With a Sport Pilot license, you can carry one passenger, daytime only, and not in the clouds or for hire. Requirements for an FAA Sport Pilot certificate:
At least 16 years old to solo. At least 17 years old to earn a license
Read, speak, and understand the English language
Pass the FAA Private Pilot knowledge exam (40 questions, at least 70% correct)
Minimum of 20 hours of flight time
Pass a practical test consisting of an oral exam and a flying exam
