The Bend Airport is located approximately 5 miles northeast of the city of Bend, Oregon. The single runway(16/34) is 5,200 feet in length, 75 feet wide and runs north/south. The asphalt surface is in perfect condition - it was rebuilt in October, 2007. There are parallel taxiways (A and B) on each side of the runway. Taxiway B is brand new, and taxiway A is scheduled to be rebuilt in the spring of 2012.
Runway 16, the calm wind runway, is served by a non-precision Instrument approach, and a 4-light VASI (Visual Approach Slope Indication) system. Runway edge lighting includes a MIRL (Medium Intensity Runway Lighting) system for approaches from either direction.
